Gordon tops UP mock polls


Bagumbayan presidential candidate Senator Richard Gordon topped the list of presidentiables in a mock polls conducted among University of the Philippines (UP) Mass Communication students last February 24, it was revealed Tuesday.

The mock polls were conducted by the UP Department of Journalism among the students of the College of Mass Communication (CMC) in UP Diliman. Of the total voting population of 1,086, only 370 or 34.07 percent of CMC students participated in the mock polls.

Gordon got 37.57 percent of the total votes, followed by Lakas-Kampi-CMD standard-bearer former Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro (28.92 percent), Liberal Party’s Senator Benigno Aquino III (12.97 percent), Nacionalista Party’s Manuel Villar Jr. (10 percent), independent candidate Nicanor Perlas (4.05 percent), Bangon Pilipinas’ Bro. Eddie Villanueva (1.35 percent), independent presidentiable Senator Jamby Madrigal (0.81 percent), and Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino bet former President Joseph Estrada (0.27 percent).

Meanwhile, KBL bet financial consultant Vetallano Acosta and Ang Kapatiran Party presidentiable Olongapo City Councilor JC delos Reyes did not get any vote.
